At Crop's, we believe biodiversity is not just a “nice to have”, it’s an essential part of our sustainability strategy. As a company deeply rooted in agriculture, we depend on ecosystem services like pollination to produce the fruits and vegetables we grow and deliver across the world. But biodiversity is highly under pressure. The global decline of pollinators such as bees threatens not only our food systems but also the natural balance of ecosystems.

That’s why we’re proud to partner with BEEODIVERSITY, a pioneering organization that helps companies and communities measure and restore biodiversity. Through their innovative BeeOmetrics project, they use the presence and activity of pollinators —especially bees— as bioindicators of ecosystem health.

What are we doing together?
Within the Crop’s Group, we’ve installed 12 ”BeeÔtels”. Not just near our factory in France, but also around our sites in Belgium and Spain. These ”BeeÔtels”provide safe habitats for wild pollinators and enable the collection of data to better understand the connection between local biodiversity and agricultural practices.

Our goal is to gain insight into how regenerative farming practices - which emphasize soil health, minimal chemical input, and ecosystem restoration - can support and increase pollinator populations. The assumption? That we’ll find more bees in fields where we practice sustainable agriculture, and fewer in areas managed conventionally.

For all of us at Crop’s, it’s another example of how we are taking action to ensure a more resilient, biodiverse, and sustainable food system.

Stay tuned for the results!
